Presented on behalf of the MANY Graduate Residency programme 2012 / 2013 in collaboration with Wasps, "Get Lucky Yourself" was an exhibition by Alejandra Contreras & Luna Jungeun Lee.
Four exceptional recent creative graduates were selected from over 100 applicants to take part in the 2012 / 2013 MANY Graduate Residency programme. Two of these graduates, Alejandra Contreras and Luna Jungeun Lee coalesced to present a two-person solo exhibition, "Get Lucky Yourself", as the culmination of their residency time, exploring themes of conviviality and the digital image.
Alejandra Contreras was born in Mexico in 1980 and graduated from the Master of Research in Creative Practice course at Glasgow School of Art, Glasgow in 2012 and Ba Hons Fine Art at La Esmarelda, Mexico City in 2007. She has made presentations of her practice at Centre for Contemporary Arts, Glasgow and Six Foot Gallery, Glasgow. During 2012-2013 she was also artist-in-residence at Woodlands Community Garden, Glasgow.
Luna Jungeun Lee was born in South Korea in 1985 and graduated from the Master of Fine Art course at Goldsmiths College, London in 2011 and BFA Fine Art at Kook-min University, Seoul in 2009. She has made presentations of her practice at Glasgow Print Studio, Glasgow and ArtEco, London. During 2011-2012 she was also artist-in-residence at the Florence Trust, London.
